Tenure-track faculty position at the rank of Assistant Professor - University of British Columbia

The Accounting and Information Systems (AIS) Division of the Sauder School of Business at the University of British Columbia (Vancouver Campus) invites applications for one tenure-track faculty position at the rank of Assistant Professor.   Applicants should have completed or be nearing completion of a Ph.D. in information systems or related field and have a demonstrated potential for excellence in research and teaching. We welcome applications from outstanding candidates who have a strong interest in the interaction between IT and business management.

Candidates who wish to be considered should apply by October 1 and December 1, 2022.

Duties include developing and maintaining an active research program aimed at making a significant contribution to the academic profession, to teaching in the undergraduate and graduate programs, as well as contributing to other teaching and administrative initiatives of the Management Information Systems Group and the Sauder School of Business. Teaching and service requirements are similar to other research-intensive universities.

The Sauder School strives to be a leader in the areas of Finance, Big Data/Analytics, Digital Business, and Behavioral Science. To support these strategic areas, successful candidates must be able to work across fields on interdisciplinary research. Preference will be given to candidates with a strong technical foundation and quantitative research expertise whose research methodology includes the analysis of large data sets.  Candidates will be expected to teach courses such as IT project management, systems analysis and design, accounting Information Systems, database management systems, business programming and analytics, or other areas that support our business technology management and analytics curricula at the undergraduate and graduate levels.

We will be speaking with candidates at the CIST conference in Indianapolis (October 15-16) and ICIS conference in Copenhagen, Denmark (December 10-14).

Candidates who wish to be considered should apply by October 1 and December 1 for consideration at CIST and ICIS, respectively.

For candidates who cannot attend any of those conferences or wish to speak to us earlier, we can arrange to speak with them via Zoom. It is recommended that candidates apply by December 1, 2022. However, applications will be reviewed until the position is granted.  Appointment is available July 1, 2023, subject to final budgetary approval.

(4) two research papers and/or a dissertation proposal,
(5) a teaching statement, along with a record of teaching evaluations (if available),

(7) three reference letters (send separately).
