EBAPE professors analyze political crisis in article on Washington Post Blog

The professors of the Brazilian School of Public and Business Administration (EBAPE) of FGV, Daniela Campello and Cesar Zucco, published an article about the current political crisis in Brazil in the Monkey Cage, political blog of the Washington Post.

In the article, written by invitation of the editors, the researchers affirm that the leaking of recorded telephone conversations involving authorities of the country has brought the Brazilian political crisis to a new level and question the growing politicization of the judiciary.

The article assesses possible scenarios in the face of discussions about the legality of recordings, the role of the judiciary in the current political crisis and the risks that the politicization of judges and courts can bring to democracy.
